Beginning Tuesday 5/29, we will have a summer evening schedule change which will be as follows:

Mondays thru Thursdays: 3pm, 5pm, & 7pm
Fridays: 3pm & 5pm (No 7pm)

The new daily schedule will look like (beginning Tuesday 5/29) :

2012 Yoga National Championship is almost here!

Keep an eye out for the 2012 Yoga National Championship that takes place the weekend of March 2 -4 in New York!

Schedule Changes!!!!

Hi Global Yogi's!

There are some slight schedule changes that begin Tuesday Feb. 28th, 2012.

The 11 am classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday are cancelled...for now. They will be back at a future date. This is just the time of the year when people don't go to 11am during the week. Don't worry, the 11am weekend classes will remain on the schedule.

AND

The Wednesday 8:30am Class is NOW 9:30am Class. So, we now have 930am class Monday thru Friday!

We'll see you in class!

President's Day Holiday Schedule

On Monday Feb. 20th, President's day, the schedule will be changed. Normal schedule will resume on Tuesday.

930am, 3pm, 445pm, 630pm (NO 6am, NO 815pm)

Hey Everyone! Big News for Global Yoga! Mary's going to do a seminar at her own school!!! Finally!!

The seminar will be at the end of October, around the weekend of the 28th. Stay tuned for more details!

The seminar will be a morning Bikram Yoga Class taught by Mary. This will definitely go longer than 90 minutes. Be prepared.

Then following the class and a light lunch will be a Posture Class.

The Mary Seminar is coming to Kansas!

Mary will be doing a One-Day Seminar at Kansas City Bikram Yoga on Sunday September 25th.

It will run from 11am to 5pm.

The seminar will consist of a morning Bikram Yoga Class taught by Mary and then an afternoon Posture Clinic.

Niko has arrived! Congratulations yogi's. Below is Leslie's testament to how Bikram helped with her pregnancy and labor!
"One of our midwives who is not a personal fan of Bikram yoga said she could not believe the benefits it brought to the determination, focus, stamina, strength and breath awareness in labor. Mama's body opened wide on its own and Niko was born with clear lungs, steady heart, pink cheeks and eyes wide open. Thank you Bikram."

Global Yogi Kareem "Hard Hitta" Mayfield Wins Big Bout!

The official Pugilist of Global Yoga, Kareem "Hard Hitta" Mayfield wins in what is the most significant fight of his career...thanks to the yoga. His competitor was temporarily caught off guard when Kareem suddenly went into a camel pose in the middle of the fight! As his competitor was uttering the words, "What the fu*%?" Kareem got back up and delivered a series of namaste-filled punches before the fight had to be ended. Kareem won by technical knock-out in the 10th round. After the fight, Kareem said, "I didn't know fights could go to 10 rounds." Do more camels, Champ! Oh, and congratulations!

Gloria and Chaukei win 2nd and 3rd Place at the Championship!

Congrats to Gloria and Chaukei who were one of the dozens of champions who trained at Global Yoga before heading down to the Yoga Asana International Championship this past weekend in L.A.

Gloria came in second place and Chaukei came in third.

Mary To Lead Coaches Clinic in L.A.!

Mary will be leading the Coaches Clinic following the International Asana Competition in L.A. on Tuesday, June 21st. One of Bikram's most senior teachers and one of Mary's close friends MaryAnne Nassa will be assisting!

Mary will be showing how to coach Yoga Champions without injuring them. She's had some experience as she's trained over 7 world champions and hundreds of regional and bronze and silver international champions.

Global Yogi Leslie is expecting her first child in the next three weeks. Be on the lookout for her pregnancy yoga photos. Leslie proves that just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you can't practice yoga! Way to go, Leslie!

Global Yoga Student Keith Goldstein Passes Away Sept. 18, 2009

Keith was funny, upbeat, and a real trooper. He was one of those guys that in the yoga room that always tried his best. Never a complaint from him. A model yoga student and a fun guy. Keith you are missed.

In Loving Memory - Allan Goldberg

Another Angel Has Left The Earth

Allan was a part of my Yoga Family at Global Yoga in San Francisco. He was my student for over 10 years. He became my friend.We are all very sad and heartbroken at Global Yoga….I know Allan does not want me to cry.I will stop over time.

These are the times that I really hope there is a heaven for Allan needs to be there.I hope there really is a God because Allan needs to be blessed by him.

Allan founded Karma for Kids which raised funds for Camp Okizu in the bay area. It was a children’s camp for kids with cancer and their families….a place to go to where nobody was going to laugh at you if you had no hair on your head(chemo)….a place to go and feel a part of a community.Some children did not come back a second year…it might have been their last and best memory.
My school was the top fund raiser for 4 years.You wanted to help Allan so badly…he was so passionate about it.

Allan shared a love of cycling and all sports with me.Oh my God I was so excited for him when he called and told me he was going to be working for The Lance Armstrong Foundation!
One day he called me and told me he had been at a cycling event and had been riding with George Hincapie,Lance Armstrong and Eddie Merckx.Oh WOW!! Living Legends! He knew I would be thrilled (a little jealous in a nice way..)and I was grateful that he would share his cycling adventures with me.He said that he was talking to Eddie about his yoga teacher in San Francisco while they were riding…He asked if “my ears were burning!”

It is Allan’s joy of life and positive attitude about all things in life that I am grateful to have witnessed.

My deepest condolences to his family and all friends.

I love you,Allan.Thank You for being a precious part of my life,my friend. Thank you for all the things you did for my yoga school.I am again reminded of the fullness of life because of you.
